There are a great range of pitches available, from open fields to woodland groves which attract a wide variety of wildlife, including birds and deer. Thetford Forest is a patchwork of pine woodland and heathlands and a welcome refuge for a rich variety of animal and plant life, including red squirrels, deer, pheasants, woodlarks and nightjars. There really is no better way to gain a more authentic forest experience from your tent!

The site is also the perfect base for exploring the Norfolk Broads and offers the chance to walk or cycle in the peace and quiet of natural surroundings. Fishing is available at a local fishing lake and onsite during the season.

The closest pub is in the nearby village of East Harling and local attractions include Banham Zoo, Bressingham Steam Museum and Knettishall Heath Country Park. The nearest village with a range of places to eat is 2.5 miles away. Thetford market town is seven miles in one direction and Diss, with its historical buildings, is seven miles in the other. There is also a small shop in the reception area selling daily essentials and although there are no toilets or showers on the site, Porta Potties are available to rent.
