Thorpe campsite provides the ultimate in serenity. Lying on the banks of the River Thet with wonderful views of natural scenery and wildlife, you can enjoy complete peace and quiet, alongside a perfect place to pitch your tent.
There are a great range of pitches available, from open fields to woodland groves which attract a wide variety of wildlife, including birds and deer. Thetford Forest is a patchwork of pine woodland and heathlands and a welcome refuge for a rich variety of animal and plant life, including red squirrels, deer, pheasants, woodlarks and nightjars. There really is no better way to gain a more authentic forest experience from your tent!
The site is also the perfect base for exploring the Norfolk Broads and offers the chance to walk or cycle in the peace and quiet of natural surroundings. Fishing is available at a local fishing lake and onsite during the season.
The closest pub is in the nearby village of East Harling and local attractions include Banham Zoo, Bressingham Steam Museum and Knettishall Heath Country Park. The nearest village with a range of places to eat is 2.5 miles away. Thetford market town is seven miles in one direction and Diss, with its historical buildings, is seven miles in the other. There is also a small shop in the reception area selling daily essentials.
Please be aware there are no toilets or showers on this campsite, therefore your own chemical toilet is essential. The site have a limited number of Porta Potties to rent.
