Saturday 1 June marks International Trails Day which is dedicated to celebrating the development, uses and the healthy lifestyle that walking encourages.
What started off as an American initiative is now celebrated internationally, and is a sentiment we can get behind since kicking off our ‘Map Your Adventure’ campaign, which is all about getting people outside to explore the world around them. We’ve teamed up with a host of outdoor enthusiasts and bloggers who have each picked out their favourite trails in and around our New Forest campsites.
So whether you’re a hiker, biker, dog walker or just looking for an adventure with the family, there will be a trail to suit you. To find out more information about walks and activities in your area, view our things to do.
All of our campsites are situated within Forestry England land. That means that the opportunities are endless when it comes to finding a route to explore. Here are some of our top recommendations.
Pitch up amongst the pine trees and head off to explore the New Forest landscape on two wheels. The off-road, traffic-free cycle route is just over 9 miles long so should take no more than 3 hours. Watch the video of Juliet Elliott trying out the route.
Aviemore, home to our Glenmore site, offers unrivalled scenery and a range of walks to suit everyone. With access to the beaches of Loch Morlich and the delights of The Cairngorms National Park, Glenmore is well worth a visit.
Bracelands, in the Forest of Dean, is ideal for families with both camping pods and Ready Camp tents available if you’re looking for an easy break away. Drop your kit off on-site and set off on one of our recommended Forest of Dean walks.
