Set in the grounds of the breathtaking Boulsdon House in Newent, on the fringes of the Forest of Dean, the ICBP is a hidden gem of wonders. The expansive landscape stretches across 12 acres of glorious gardens, plush fields and wondrous woodland, providing a wildlife experience like never before.
More than 250 birds of prey
The ICBP is home to more than 250 remarkable birds of prey, with an incredible collection of species including owls, eagles, hawks, buzzards and vultures. Marvel at these beautiful birds in action as they take flight during stunning displays that give you a glimpse of their supreme flying skills - capture all the awesome flight moments on camera!
In spring, behold the birth of baby birds and see them being reared and nurtured, a memorable sight.
Experience days
For an up close encounter with our feathered friends, the ICBP hosts several experience days that give you the chance to handle and fly majestic birds of prey. How about a morning among owls of all shapes and sizes? Or, experience the exhilaration of flying a falcon as you practice the art of lure swinging to keep these magnificent birds under your command.
How about having hawks fly right onto your fist? Experience the much-heralded hawk in close quarters during a heart-stirring handling session! For the full birds of prey experience, the raptor session is a must. Come face-to-face with hawks, owls, falcons and kites for a magically memorable wildlife encounter.
Owl evening
Take a guided tour by torchlight and see nocturnal owls alert and active. Witness them in flight in the indoor flying arena as they glimmer through low level lighting, casting stunning silhouettes on the walls… it’s incredible!
Facilities
The ICBP has a play area for children, picnic facilities, a café and shop, plus a large free car park and excellent disabled access. Dogs are not allowed on the premises, except assistance dogs.
