A massive collection of speed machines awaits you at the museum of British motorcycling legend, Sammy Miller. From road bikes and racing bikes to exotic machines, the museum has halls packed full of motorcycles past and present.
Events include an onsite demonstration of motorbikes in action, a magnificent experience giving you a glimpse of these powerful machines in all their glory. Almost every bike in the museum is fully operational and seeing them let loose is a treat for any spectator.
To see a mix of wacky and wonderful bikes, head to the Racing Hall, where the most exotic machines are on display. Reminiscent of motorbike racing events of yesteryear, the hall is home to machines that have featured in competitive speedway events of all eras.
In the Trial Bike Hall, you will find many of the machines Sammy Miller rode throughout his career, including the Samuel Hamilton Special. This fine specimen of a motorbike was used way back in 1954 and won a ‘Best Newcomer Award.
The Vincent and Flat Tank Hall is home to some of the world’s most iconic motorcycles, including the futuristic, experimental Sinclair C5 and the legendary Vincent Firefly. The firefly transformed the humble push bike into a motor-powered machine during the post-WW2 era.
The not to be missed Norton Collection is the standout exhibit at the Sammy Miller Museum, dedicated to one of the world’s most influential motorcycle makers. The collection is home to the oldest known Norton in the world, a Peugeot engine powered, 500cc Norton from 1905!
Why visit the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum?
Motorcycle enthusiasts can indulge in the nostalgia of motorbike history, while kids can enjoy the fabulous farm animal experience and the outdoor play area. The museum is home to three black sheep, alpacas, donkeys, turkeys, chickens and mischievous guinea fowl, which freely wander the grounds.
The outdoor adventure playground features swings, a slide, a see-saw and other amusements. Kids can entertain themselves for hours and find new play buddies to enjoy the facilities with.
Take a break from the action and treat yourself to homemade cakes, breakfast, a light lunch or a courtyard cream tea at the Bashley Manor Tea Rooms. There’s even a coffee gallery to enjoy!
The Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum is home to a mix of craft and gift shops found in the courtyard. Seahorse Yarns and Crafts sells wool, crafts and gifts to remember your time at the museum, while Krafty Korner stocks bespoke jewellery, preserves, scarves, humorous signs, handbags, purses, cards and more!

An altogether nostalgic experience, the Sammy Miller Museum is home to more than 385 bikes. Most exhibits are displayed on the ground floor, with wheelchair access provided.
The facility is open from February to early December, 7 days a week, from 10am to 4.30pm. Dogs are allowed and parking is free.
