Sitting in a perfectly secluded spot of the New Forest, England's largest ancient woodland, is Denny Wood campsite. A haven for nature lovers and a peaceful retreat for stress-ridden holidayers, Denny Wood absorbs life’s worries and replaces them with only the best feelings.

This summer, save 10% on midweek bookings with code MWD10 or save 15% on grass only bookings with code GRASS15. Valid for a limited time only exclusively online. Find out more.

Made up of open grassland, under-canopy pitches and tree-lined edges, Denny Wood gives the impression of being cut off from the outside world – a camper’s very own isolated piece of nature. Pitches are separated by the natural features of the land, such as ferns, oaks and fallen trees, and are frequented by the free-roaming ponies of the New Forest.

Like all of our New Forest sites, pitch up at Denny Wood campsite and you’ll have direct access to the Forest, just a short walk from your pitch.

The New Forest itself is a wonderful place for all outdoor enthusiasts, with its mixture of landscapes all maintained by the free roaming animals.

Made up of rich heathlands, open grasslands, rivers and of course ancient trees, it’s the perfect setting for outdoor adventures on foot, on horseback or by bike, or more relaxing pursuits including photography and nature watching.

Take your next holiday at Denny Wood campsite. Book today and have your mind and body ready for some serious outdoor refreshment.

Please note: Dogs are not allowed on this site

Facilities available at Denny Wood Campsite, New Forest

The site has a special emphasis on nothing but nature, meaning that grassland and trees take precedence over toilet and shower blocks, though chemical toilet disposal facilities are present.

This means that a chemical toilet is required at this campsite.

Drinking taps are provided, and Denny Wood’s 170 pitches cover tents, trailers and caravans, with hardstanding and seasonal pitches available.

Please note that Denny Wood is one of our two campsites (the other is Ashurst) that does not allow you to bring your canine (or other pet) friends.

Happy Camper
/
This was my first time in the New Forest NP and therefore at Denny Wood Campsite. The site has a beautiful setting with easy walks into the park from your front door/porch/awning. I visited on a busy weekend and much of the site was already occupied by campers and caravans. I found a more secluded space on the fringes of the site among some trees. The facilities are basic but sufficient. With no WCs, this site it slightly less suitable for those solely relying on a tent. I would recommend and will return to Denny Wood.

Peace and quiet

Lovely scenic location with nice quiet woodland walks. Helpful friendly staff on a reasonably priced, well managed site. A good base to visit the local attractions. Bucklers hard and the motor museum for example. The Isle of Wight is a short hop as well. We will use this site again.

We have stayed here several times and is our default site for stress relief!!!The tranquility, trees, birds and animals does it every time.Friendly wardens who leave you in peace but arrange get togethers for when you want company. The Drift pub about 25 minute walk through wood and heathland does lovely food and drink. Can't wait for next visit!!!

Lovely peaceful campsite in the forest. We went here for a change from our usual sight, Aldridge Hill, and found it very nice. Although it does not have the views or sunsets of Aldridge Hill, it is beautifully quiet with direct access into the forest for cycling and walking. There are pitches either in the open or under the trees. No dogs allowed (they can go to Matley Wood half a mile away) and only a tap and chemical waste disposal. In a word, beautiful and just what a campsite should be
