Hollands Wood is the perfect retreat for both mind and body. Celebrity broadcaster and environmental campaigner David Bellamy described this site as one of his 'Paradise parks'. Set amongst 22 hectares of beautiful oak woodland - the ideal backdrop for relaxation or an action-packed break - you can see why. Visit once and you'll want to come back again and again.

It's not easy to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Finding the time and the place to 'get away from it all' is a challenge for each of us. This is where Hollands Wood steps in; to help you disconnect, step back and take a deep breath of fresh air - a spa for the mind and body.

Giant oak trees surround the pitches at Hollands Wood, sunlight pierces the canopy, and rich green hues colour the landscape as far as the eye can see. With the natural features of the land still in place, pitches weave through the treelines, amongst the ferns and into slightly more open land, giving plenty of camping options.

Stay at our Hollands Wood campsite and you’ll find out what peace and quiet really means. Surround yourself with green space and relax in one of Hampshire’s, if not the UK’s, most serene places, complete with ancient woodland and historic New Forest ponies roaming freely.

When you’re done resting take off into the forest surrounding the site. Go by bike or on foot and enjoy the 143 miles of track and paths running throughout the glorious woodlands.

Nearby villages include the beautiful Brockenhurst with its abundance of restaurants, pubs and shops. The expansive picnic site at Balmer Lawn, next to the Lymington River, is a popular choice for both visitors and residents, and has provided an idyllic setting for countryside lunches for many years.

With its friendly, welcoming atmosphere, Hollands Wood is perfect for all campers. It's the place to surround yourself with the incredible oaks and green space of the New Forest, the place to temporarily turn your back on the outside world – go on, book with us today!

Please note: Organic toilet fluid is preferred at this campsite and rock pegs are recommended.

Any barbecues used on our sites should be specifically designed and used only for the purpose of cooking food (i.e not firepits). They should be robust, secure and able to be raised off of the forest floor, there should no damage or marks left on the ground where they have been used. In support of the New Forest Action Plan we are asking campers not to bring disposable barbecues for their stay. We are also reminding campers that outside of our sites no barbecues of any kind are now allowed anywhere in the New Forest.

Please do not feed, pet or approach the animals in and around the campsite; they may look friendly but are unpredictable and can bite and kick. Please keep all food sealed and out of reach of the ponies

Holland’s Wood, just a brilliant campsite.
/
Absolutely great campsite and you can park/pitch in a place of your choosing. Stayed here many times over the last 30 years. So nice to see the New Forest horses, donkeys, cows pigs roaming freely around. Staff are great. Toilet blocks are normally very clean and tidy….only not clean when some campers decide not to clean up their own mess…this is not acceptable. Other than that, highly recommended.

Great camping weekend
/
2nd time camping with Camping In The Forest, and 1st time at Hollands Wood. The staff on arrival were very friendly and knowledgeable, they gave us lots of information and leaflets about the site and local area. The site itself is very big with plenty of space for tents, cars and large caravans. We camped looking over the heath where we could see ponies and cows. A very relaxing stay with clean facilities, great staff and good views. Would definitely recommend and will be going back in future.

Great campsite

Really great campsite, friendly staff, a bit noisy if you pick a pitch near the main road, walking in woods is magical
Unit Type: Tent
Fabulous location, pity about some fellow campers
/
I can't fault the location and facilities. Our dog is socialised with deer, horses and cattle, and having a friendly pig wander up to introduce herself to our cockapoo was magical. I had noted some comments on other reviews about noise from the nearby road so we deliberately chose to be on the eastern side of the site and we only occasionally heard anything. Although we are double vaccinated, my wife is having medical treatment that means she is immunocompromised, so we were careful to select a pitch that was away from others. But then after dark a motorhome parked right next to us, way inside the 6m that the campsite insists on for fire safety, and although I explained that my wife was vulnerable, declined to move. So we moved a few metres further away. And then after we had gone to bed the guy ran his engine for almost half an hour, presumably to charge the leisure battery. He did the same in the morning, waking us up. So we moved 100m down the site as I didn't want to see his face again. I noticed another motorhome also running the engine in the morning and I guess this is because the site doesn't offer EHU and they don't have solar. It should be made plain on booking that running the engine is not acceptable due both to noise and pollution. And stress that six metres MEANS a minimum of six metres, not three. Perhaps a six metre gap should be painted on the tarmac at reception and pointed out to incoming campers so they realise what this means. But rant over; we loved the site despite cloudy weather and some drizzle, and will be back when it reopens in the spring.

Beautiful site, helpful staff and good clean facilities
/
Beautiful site nestled in the New Forest with lovely open field adjacent. No pitch numbers but plenty of spaces to pitch nestled in amongst the trees. Staff were friendly and helpful and good clean shower/toilet blocks. Walking distance into Brockenhurst and multiple walks from the campsite into the New Forest.

Great place to camp , beautiful area. Clean facilities . Very helpful wardens. As this is a major cycling area I think electric battery cycle charging should be made easily and cheaply available. You advertise on site for batteries to be charged but at £5 a pop found this too pricey.

Was not happy with Check-in experience
/
As it was my first time camping in the UK I contacted the site via telephone to get confirmation that my booking was done correctly. It turned out I had made a mistake on the pitch I had booked so I needed to make some amendments and extra bookings which was all paid for over the phone (good thing I called). On arrival, and after a 3 hour drive, we arrived before the offical check-in and was told we will need to pay few pounds each so we opted to drive to the village up the road to buy our food supplies and kill time. Upon return, the check-in took more than half an hour because they couldn't find my bookings on their systems (despite the email confirmations I was showing them). At the time I couldn't help feel they were trying to avoid taking the ownership of this mess-up and it felt like they were suggesting that I must have made a mistake and I might have to pay again. After a lot of back and forth they managed to find my bookings. They had booked them under the wrong date! For what should have been a 5 minute process this was a terrible experience and first impression considering the long drive we had all just finished and the fact we were hungry. Now, they refunded me £18 as they said I overpaid; however, without my knowledge or consent they proceeded to debit me a further £13 to which I had to call them about. I was told they did not calculate how much I was due back correctly. Given the palava we went through they should have left this as a token of good will or could have at least informed me to explain what they were doing. I did not receive a phone call or email about this. Customer service experience was terrible but other than this, we enjoyed our stay.
