New to Camping in the Forest is our brand new campsite, Sherwood Pines. Situated close to the famous Sherwood Forest, the site will include over 150 pitches across 20 acres of beautiful forestry woodland and is expected to be open all year round.

The site is perfectly located, providing an excellent base to explore the forest with numerous walking and cycling routes. It is also within walking distance to the many activities provided by Forestry England, including adventure playgrounds, Go Ape, bike hire, picnic areas, plus open-air concerts held throughout the year. 

Sherwood Pines will be a full-facility campsite, suitable for all forms of camping with all-weather pitches and electric hook-ups.

Facilities available at Sherwood Pines Campsite

Sherwood Pines is a fantastic new campsite, coming soon to Sherwood Forest. It will have full facilities available, including toilets, showers, a play area, dishwashing facilities, a shop and more.

Directions to Sherwood Pines

The Camping in the Forest Sherwood Pines campsite is situated in the Forestry England Sherwood Pines Forest Park alongside Go Ape and the Sherwood Pines Café.  There are brown signs for the Sherwood Pines Visitor Centre and you can follow these to get to the campsite.

From the South

  • Leave the M1 at Junction 27 and follow the A608 towards Mansfield.
  • Take the A611 towards the A617 and the A6117.
  • Sherwood Pines is located on the B6030 between Kings Clipstone and Ollerton.

From Manchester and the North West

  • Leave the M1 at Junction 30 and take the A616 towards Holbeck.
  • At Norton turn right on to the A60.
  • Turn left on to the B6025 and follow this to the B6030 at Kings Clipstone.
  • Sherwood Pines Forest Park is off the B6030.

From Sheffield

  • Take the A57 to Worksop and turn right on to the B6034 to Edwinstowe. 
  • Turn right on to the B6030 where the entrance to Sherwood Pines Forest Park is located.

From York and East Yorkshire

  • Take the A1 South.
  • Leave the A1 at the exit towards Worksop/Sheffield/Nottingham/Ollerton/Babworth and follow the A614 towards Edwinstowe.
  • Turn right on to the B6030; Sherwood Pines Forest Park is situated on the B6030 between Kings Clipstone and Ollerton.

Public Transport around Sherwood Pines

By Train

The nearest train station is Mansfield Woodhouse which is approximately 7 miles away.  Other stations can be found at Mansfield and Worksop.

By Bus

The nearest bus stop is in Kings Clipstone approximately 2 miles away.  Google maps show this as being a 20 minute walk.
