About Snowdonia

view of the mountains from the tent and caravan siteSnowdonia is a distinguished national park that plays host to a diverse rangeoflandscapes. Covering a large part of the Welsh coastline, it stretches from as far north as Conwy, and as far south as Aberdovey.

In between these far-reaching points are the lakes, mountains, ancient forests and winding rivers that have made the area one of the most popular outdoor destinations in the UK.

Close to our Beddgelert campsite are a number of stunning natural features, including the 1085m Snowdon, Glaslyn (Welsh for Blue Lake), which sits 600ft above sea level to Snowdon’s eastern side, the ancient forest of Beddgelert, Shell Island beach and more.

Just west of Beddgelert also stands Moel Hebog. At 783m tall this mountain offers another challenge for walkers in the area, as well as providing stunning views for those on the nearby Snowdon.

Not just defined by its landscapes, though, Snowdonia has a wealth of history that is reflected in many of its oldest remaining structures. Dotting the land from North to South are a number of historic remnants; castles, forts, churches, Stone Age burial chambers and more all help to bring the history of the area alive.

Together they make camping in Snowdonia a very exciting holiday option.
